It's almost never your internet connection.
When Wi-Fi is slow or unreliable, most people assume the internet provider is to blame. Usually it isn't. The problems are almost always inside the building β and they're diagnosable before any money is spent on new equipment.
Access points in the wrong places
Coverage patterns depend heavily on where APs are mounted. APs placed for convenience rather than coverage β above drop ceilings, in closets, or near interference sources β create dead zones that are impossible to fix without moving them.
Hardware undersized for your load
Consumer-grade and entry-level business APs have hard limits on simultaneous device connections. In a church, conference room, or office with dozens of devices, these limits get hit and performance collapses β especially during your busiest times.
No quality of service configuration
Without QoS, all traffic competes equally. A staff member streaming a video can degrade a VoIP call or a live stream. QoS configuration ensures critical traffic gets the bandwidth it needs, even when the network is under load.
Misconfigured or outdated firmware
Access points running default configurations or outdated firmware operate at a fraction of their potential. Channel selection, roaming settings, and power levels all affect performance significantly and are rarely configured correctly out of the box.
What our free Wi-Fi Assessment includes.
We come to your location, walk the space, and produce a prioritized remediation plan β at no cost, with no obligation to engage us for anything further. Most organizations find the assessment alone gives them a clear picture they've never had before.
Site survey & coverage mapping
We walk your entire space and map actual Wi-Fi coverage β identifying dead zones, weak signal areas, and locations where coverage drops below usable thresholds. Every room, every floor.
Access point analysis
We assess every access point: location, hardware model, firmware version, channel configuration, transmit power, and connected device load. We identify which APs are undersized, misconfigured, or in the wrong place.
Guest & network segmentation review
We review how your networks are segmented β guest, staff, AV, IoT, POS β and identify whether sensitive systems are properly isolated from each other and from guest traffic.
Gateway & bandwidth analysis
We assess your gateway hardware and whether it's sized for your peak usage β not your average usage. Undersized gateways are a common and overlooked bottleneck during high-traffic moments.
Security posture check
We look for default credentials, open guest networks with no isolation, outdated firmware with known vulnerabilities, and other common Wi-Fi security gaps that leave your network exposed.
Prioritized remediation plan
We deliver a written report β what's wrong, why it's causing problems, and what it will take to fix it, in priority order. No vague recommendations. Specific action items with honest cost estimates.
We do this assessment for any Athens-area organization. No strings attached.
Churches
Unreliable Wi-Fi during Sunday services is the most common complaint we hear. Streaming drops, check-in kiosks fail, and staff devices lose connection during the moments that matter most. We fix this β and we do the assessment first, before any work begins.
Church IT services βBusinesses & offices
Dead zones in conference rooms, connections that drop when a room fills up, and VoIP calls that degrade under load β all diagnosable without guesswork. We've assessed everything from single-floor offices to multi-building campuses.
Request assessment βGolf clubs & hospitality
Member Wi-Fi that degrades during tournaments, POS systems that lose connectivity during busy service periods, and AV systems that can't hold a connection during events. Peak-load reliability is our standard, not our upsell.
Club IT services βYou get the plan. Then you decide.
The assessment report is yours, with no obligation. Some organizations fix issues with their own resources. Many ask us to implement the remediation. Either way, you leave with a clear picture of exactly what's wrong and what it would take to fix it.
Questions about the assessment.
Is it really free?
Yes. No cost, no obligation, no sales pressure. We do this because it starts the relationship with something genuinely useful β and most organizations that go through it understand the value of what we do well enough to want to talk further.
How long does it take?
Typically 1β2 hours on-site, depending on the size of your facility. Multi-building or multi-campus assessments take longer and we'll discuss timing when you reach out.
Do we need to do anything to prepare?
Just make sure we can access all the areas where Wi-Fi is used. If you have documentation on your current network equipment or layout, that's helpful but not required β we'll inventory what's there ourselves.
What if we already have a managed IT provider?
That's fine. We'll assess honestly and give you the report regardless. If your current provider has already addressed these issues, the assessment will confirm it. If not, you'll have documentation to bring back to them β or a reason to have a different conversation.
What areas do you serve?
Athens and the surrounding area β including Watkinsville, Gainesville, Madison, Monroe, Jefferson, Winder, and Loganville. If you're not sure whether we cover your location, just ask.
What equipment do you recommend?
We use Ubiquiti UniFi for most deployments β enterprise-grade performance and management without enterprise pricing. We'll tell you exactly what hardware you'd need and what it costs before any work begins. No margin games on equipment.
Stop guessing why your Wi-Fi doesn't work. Let us find out.
